I just love this anime!
I had to do something for it! Alot of symbolisms and hidden meanings in this picture. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever thoroughly thought about everything for a picture as much as I have for this one. It goes from simple stuff to really deep stuff. From placing, to contrasts, background colors, eye color strenght, everything! If you’ve seen the show, feel free to sit down and just think about why the things are the way they are here.

*SPOILER Those who haven't seen the show yet, don't read this*
Madoka is the one in the middle and with the lightest colors(maybe because she'll become a goddess later)(white background and very "high" picture) she's the main character and the one who in the "present" will never really be a puella magi(she never kills a witch) that's why she has normal outfits. She looks straight upon us and is not looking at any other character. Her expression is like "what can I do i feel so useless" she seems to be worried about the others.
Sayaka is a little bit turned to Kyoko(the one who tries the most to save her) and she's turning away from Madoka. Her expression shows how she is slowly sinking into depression and doubt(what is she fighting for now?). The lighting is also absent(it's the darkest picture(black background)). Her piscture is also very low(I don't know how to put that)
Homura is "looking at" Madoka (Is she blushing or is it me? x) ) She also looks very strong-willed. Her picture and Madoka'are the only one who have a reflection.
Mami's looks happy but she turns away from the other girls. Her picture is the only one who has a fading effect on the top. It feels like she's vanishing.
Kyouko also turns away from the other but she also have her weapon and looks aggressive.
I don't really know what else to say *SPOILER END*
